The project presents a contemporary school designed to balance safety, functionality, and playful exploration, creating a welcoming environment for both kindergarten and middle school students. The design carefully separates different functions while fostering interaction through open and covered shared spaces. It responds to programmatic needs while prioritizing the protection and well-being of younger children, integrating smoothly with the site’s sloping landscape and surrounding buildings.
Building placement is guided by the lot’s topography and orientation. Classrooms stretch along a south-to-north axis at a slightly lower level than the primary school, ensuring morning sunlight, open views, and a natural flow through the campus. At the heart of the courtyard, a sunken auditorium is naturally lit through skylights and designed to function independently from the rest of the school.
The curved form of the building follows the slope of the land, enclosing a central courtyard that links the two schools. Its height gradually increases along its length, providing additional floor space while shading the courtyard from the southern sun. Separate entrances for the kindergarten and middle school, along with a central access from the northwest, support clear circulation while maintaining security.
The school’s form blends with the surrounding greenery, optimizing sunlight and natural ventilation for all spaces. A green roof extends the courtyard, offering extra outdoor space, a winding pathway, and panoramic 360-degree views. More than a series of classrooms, the project is conceived as a protective, playful, and inspiring environment—where architecture encourages learning, exploration, and a strong connection to the landscape.
